<p>We’ve an exciting opening for a fixed term employment as an Accountant (Maternity Cover) with British Council Nigeria.</p>
<p><strong>The role</strong></p>
<p>This role is for  a fixed term and as a maternity cover.   The post holder will be a member of a team of accountants responsible for the end to end accounting process in Nigeria including month and year end close, and ensures consistent, accurate and robust financial accounting processes in line with standard accounting practices and corporate policies. This is a supporting role in the Financial Controlling function which is a key function in the new organisational structure emerging from the British Council’s Financial Transparency Project.</p>
<p><strong>What we are looking for?</strong></p>
<p>Passionate finance individual with</p>
<p>·  Bachelor’s degree in any numerate course of study.</p>
<p>·  At least would have passed Skills level in an on-going certification with a recognised accounting board.</p>
<p>·  Minimum of two years’ experience in an active and challenging accounting environment with proven and demonstrable technical accounting skills.</p>

<li>Perform cost-­benefit and needs analysis of existing/potential customers to meet their needs.</li>
<li>Adjusts content of sales presentations by studying the type of sales outlet.</li>
<li>Focuses sales efforts by studying existing and potential volume of sellers.</li>
<li>Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; making recommendations to management.</li>
<li>Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints to maximize satisfaction</li>
<li>Coordinate sales effort with team members.</li>
<li>Analyze the territory market’s potential, track sales, and status reports</li>
<li>Supply management with reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and the potential for new products and services.</li>
<li>Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.</li>
